SOCIETA' CAPITANI E MACCHINISTI NAVALI - CAMOGLI

Nel Marzo 2006, la nave passeggeri Alexander von Humboldt della Phoenix Reisen visitava l'isola di Tristan da Cunha. Come noto, alla fine del 1800, un brigantino naufragò in quel luogo e due membri camogliesi dell'equipaggio, Gaetano Lavarello e Andrea Repetto originarono parte delle stirpi di quel posto così lontano. Il fotografo della von Humboldt, Sascha "Sash" Seitz, uno dei protagonisti di quella spedizione, ha gentilmente consegnato le seguenti foto al Socio Comandante Giuseppe Casini Lemmi che ce le ha inoltrate. Osservando le istantanee, sembrerà di visitare fisicamente la più remota isola abitata.

On March 2006, the cruise ship Alexander von Humboldt of Phoenix Reisen called at the island of Tristan da Cunha. At the end of 1800, a brig was wrecked there and two of her camogliese crewmembers, Gaetano Lavarello and Andrea Repetto started two of the traditional families of that place. The Photographer of the von Humboldt, Mr. Sascha "Sash" Seitz, kindly handed the following images to our Member Captain Giuseppe Casini Lemmi, who forwarded them to us. Looking at the pictures, it looks like indeed to visit for one day the remotest inhabited island.
