Significativo passaggio di consegne a bordo della M/s Sensation
L'8 Marzo scorso, a bordo della M/s Sensation s'è svolto un significativo passaggio di consegne tra i Comandanti della prestigiosa unità gestita dalla Carnival Cruises.
I due ufficiali infatti, sono entrambi di Camogli, sono stati diplomati al nostro Istituto Nautico e, ovviamente, sono nostri Soci.
Il Comandante Roberto Costi ed il Comandante Vittorio Marchi partirono da Camogli per imbarcarsi con la grande compagnia statunitense l'8 Agosto 1988. Come spesso accade negli imbarchi seguenti non ebbero occasione d'incontrarsi poichè impiegati sulle numerose navi di quell'azienda, ma il destino li ha fatti incontrare venti anni dopo, entrambi al primo comando!
Ovviamente il breve periodo passato adesso insieme riguarda il solo passaggio di consegne, dopodichè Marchi continuerà il comando della Sensation, mentre invece Costi si rilasserà in vacanza.
La Società Capitani e Macchinisti di Camogli è orgogliosa di continuare a vantare tra i propri membri i professionisti operativi del mare di oggigiorno che rappresentano la continuità e la linfa vitale della Società stessa. Di recente, la Società ha infatti intrapreso un deciso processo di rinnovamento, volto alla valorizzazione della tradizione marittima camogliese ma anche alle nuove prospettive del mondo dello shipping.
Significant handing over on board the M/s "Sensation"
On the last March 8th, on board the M/s "Sensation", a significant handing over event was held between the Captains of this beautiful ship, managed by Carnival Cruises.
The two officers indeed, come from Camogli, have been graduated to our Nautical School and, of course, are members of our Society.
Initially, Captain Roberto Costi and Captain Vittorio Marchi both left Camogli on August 8, 1988, to embark on the ships of the famous american company. In the following years, unfortunately, they had no chance to meet again because engaged on different vessels, but the fate made them meet again in the occasion of the first command!
Obviously, the short period presently spent together regards only the handing over procedure, right after, Capt. Marchi will continue to command the "Sensation", while Capt. Costi will head for his vacation period.
The Society of Shipmasters and Naval Engineers of Camogli is proud to have as members these operative maritime professionals who represent the continuity and the vital lymph of the Society itself. Recently, the Society indeed started a renewing process, aimed to the valorization of the maritime tradition and to the new prespectives of the shipping business as well.
